Ten Things of Thankful

Welcome to Ten Things of Thankful!

We gather here each weekend to share our posts about the things we are thankful for in our lives, and sometimes just to report that we've survived a difficult week; when we start focusing on the positives and the silver linings, we are able see that life is good. We also encourage each other by sharing pieces of our own journey. The people who participate in TToT are a truly awesome bunch from all age groups and all walks of life; I hope you'll join us and invite your blog friends to do the same, everyone is welcome!

At Ten Things of Thankful we believe that there are many little things in our lives to be thankful for each day as well as the big things that stand out. Keep in mind that you are not required to list ten things if you can't come up with that many, nobody is keeping score, just do the best you can!  You'll find that once you get started, more things tend to pop into your head! There is no specific format required for your post, you are encouraged to do it your way. Variety makes it interesting!  :-)

This week's TToT link-up will open shortly after midnight (Central Time) on Thursday night, and will remain open until Tuesday night, so you have plenty of time to work on your post.

Please visit as many of the links as possible, sharing your thoughts is what this group is all about; and PLEASE check back next week for new links that were added later, those folks will appreciate your comments too!

Thank you for your part in making our Ten Things of Thankful blog such a blessing,

Ten Things of Thankful

Welcome to this week's edition of Ten Things of Thankful!!

I can't believe this month is already half over!  Just a week ago we were walking on the beach and flying a kite high in the blue sky, today I am looking out my window at our West Texas landscape that is damp from last night's pouring rain, knowing that things will green up a little for a bit, and all the desert creatures will be happy. Returning home from vacation is always a little hard after anticipating it for so long, but I am thankful we had the opportunity to go, and that we have a nice little house to return to and furkids eager to see us. They are hanging close this week, I think we were missed. I know very blessed I am, and I have so much to be thankful for. How about you?

At Ten Things of Thankful we believe that there are many little things in our lives to be thankful for each day as well as the big things that stand out. Keep in mind that you are not required to list ten things if you can't come up with that many, nobody is keeping score, but do the best you can!  You'll find that once you get started, more things tend to pop into your head! :-)

Happy Weekend!

This weekend marks the end of March and the beginning of April. Are April Fool's Day jokes a tradition in your family?  I think it was my father's favorite day of the year. :-) He would start early in the morning with silly jokes, even calling us with them long after we were grown... sweet memories now.

I will be heading out on vacation this weekend, but I will still be checking in here. It just might take me a little longer to come around to read your posts and comment. It's been a busy week getting ready for the trip here. How did your week go?  Did you find some reasons to be thankful?

Ten Things of Thankful
Happy Weekend!

Have you had a good week, or was it one of those you had to work hard to make the best of?  I like the challenge of  learning to identify some blessings in each day no matter how much struggle might have been obscuring them.  I like being able to end each day saying thank you and truly feeling grateful for the life I've been given, and the lessons I've learned and am still learning.  Sometimes I am thankful just for God getting me through it, but most of the time there is ever so much more! I've also discovered that the things that seem like insurmountable obstacles at the moment will often appear more manageable with a little more perspective in the days to come.

The think I love most about participating in the Ten Things of Thankful link-up is the way my spirit is lifted just by reading the awesome things everyone else shares, and often realizing that I am thankful for some of those same things, and I hadn't even thought about it!

Keep in mind that you are not required to list ten things if you can't come up with that many, nobody is keeping score, but do the best you can! At TToT we believe that there are many little things in our lives to be thankful for each day as well as the big things that stand out.

TTOT - 3/03/17

Ten Things of Thankful

Happy March!  Spring is officially less than three weeks away and it's my favorite time of the year! Spring serves as a reminder that life cycles, so that when we are walking through dark times and hard times we can have faith that the sun will shine in our lives again, and joyful times will return. It's also good to remember that even before we can see those first green stems pushing thru the earth and buds forming on the branches, things are happening to create those changes that are invisible at the time. So it is with us, at times we may feel stuck in the dark,  but there is a force of life inside of us working to bring about new growth.

Taking time each week to reflect on the positives in our life - the big and small things we have to be thankful for - uplifts us, and by sharing those here we encourage each other. That's what I love about Ten Things of Thankful, it creates a positive environment that is so nurturing of more!

Keep in mind that you are not required to list ten things if you just can't come up with that many, but do the best you can! The idea is to recognize that we have a zillion little things in our lives to be thankful for as well as the big things that stand out.  One thing I've found helpful is taking a few minutes each night to make a note (on my phone in my case) about something that blessed my day.  When it comes time to write my TToT post I already have at least seven items for my list!  Not only that, but it ends my night in a thankful frame of mind. :-)

This week's link-up will open shortly after midnight CST on Thursday night, and will remain open until Tuesday night, so you have plenty of time to work on your post.  Please check back next week for new links that were added in later, those folks will appreciate your comments too!

I'd like to start something new here this week to help us all get to know each other a little better.  Please take a moment to answer the following question in the comments section below...  Where do you live, and what do you most like and most dislike about living there?

Ten Things of Thankful

Hello!  It's time for another round of Ten Things of Thankful!  How has you're week been, was it a good one, or one of those you had to push yourself through?  Either way, this is the place to come to put it all in perspective.  In the really good times we celebrate how blessed we are, and in the tough times we celebrate that we made it, one foot in front of the other, and how strong we are!

Also keep in mind that no one is counting the items on your list, so do the best you can with it, and we'll be inspired by reading it.  An attitude of gratitude is contagious!  Sometimes one reason to be thankful in your life can be as powerful as a dozen, it's all about learning to see our lives with open eyes, open hearts, and open minds, and realize that there are good things, big and little, happening to us every day.

This week's link-up will open shortly after midnight CST on Thursday night, and will remain open until Tuesday night, so you have plenty of time to work on your post.  Please check back next week for new links that were added in later, they'd appreciate your comments too!

TTOT - 2/10/17 - We Begin Again

Ten Things of Thankful

The Ten Things of Thankful blog hop was started by Lizzi Lewis at Considerings as a means of seeking out and sharing the good things in her life, changing her attitude in the process. She soon discovered that her sharing inspired others to look for the good things in their lives too, even at times when it is difficult to find those silver linings.

TToT has been an ongoing weekly blog hop since June of 2013, and many people have taken up the challenge to join in and share their own reasons to be thankful. Lizzi has done an amazing job of hosting TToT for the past three-and-a-half-years, with the support of an awesome group of co-hosts, and she is ready for a well-deserved break. She has graciously allowed me to take on the role of TToT administrator and move TToT to its very own blog address here.

Many, many thanks to you, dearest Lizzi, for all the work you've done to start TToT and keep it up and running these past years. Focusing on the things we have to be thankful for has made all the difference for me and many others! Blessings to you always <3

And so we begin again with this week's link-up!  I'm still working on the button code and will hopefully have that in place for you by next week. :-)  Don't forget to drop by our TToT Facebook group too!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The reason behind asking you to list ten things you are thankful for is to challenge you to look hard at your life and discover both the big ways and small ways that you've been blessed in the past week. However, I don't want anyone to feel that they can't participate unless they list ten, so do the best you can, share as many as you've got, and don't feel the need to make excuses if you're short. We're just happy to have you sharing with us!

A new link-up will open early Friday morning each week and will remain open until the following Tuesday night, so you have plenty of time and don't need to rush or worry if your weekend is busy. Life trumps blogging, and it should!

My only requests are that you include the TToT logo and a link to our TToT link-up in your post, and that you take the time to read and comment on as many other posts as you can. The whole point of this blog hop is to share and to encourage each other... that's where the magic begins!
