Ten Things of Thankful

Welcome to Ten Things of Thankful!

We gather here each weekend to share our posts about the things we are thankful for in our lives, and sometimes just to report that we've survived a difficult week; when we start focusing on the positives and the silver linings, we are able see that life is good. We also encourage each other by sharing pieces of our own journey. The people who participate in TToT are a truly awesome bunch from all age groups and all walks of life; I hope you'll join us and invite your blog friends to do the same, everyone is welcome!

At Ten Things of Thankful we believe that there are many little things in our lives to be thankful for each day as well as the big things that stand out. Keep in mind that you are not required to list ten things if you can't come up with that many, nobody is keeping score, just do the best you can! You'll find that once you get started, more things tend to pop into your head. There is no specific format required for your post, you are encouraged to do it your way. Variety makes it interesting!  :-)

This week's TToT link-up will open shortly after midnight (Central Time) on Thursday night, and will remain open until Tuesday night, so you have plenty of time to work on your post.

Please visit as many of the links as possible, sharing your thoughts is what this group is all about; and PLEASE check back next week for new links that were added later, those folks will appreciate your comments too!

Thank you for your part in making our Ten Things of Thankful blog such an uplifting experience!

Please take a moment to answer the following question in the comments section below. It's a fun way for us to get to know each other a little better.  What would be your favorite way to spend a snowy winter day?

  1. How i would spend a snowly day depends on where i am living. Here in the swamps, where snow is rare, when it did snow i would wake the chidren at zero ack emma and put socks on their hands and what coats and shoes we had and encourage them to go enjoy it, while i made hot things to eat and drink all day for them and Sweetie and me.

Now the kids are grown and i think if it snows down here i will, after work (because of course it will be on a work day), hunker down and try to stay warm.

If i lived up north, where snow is common, i'm not so sure what i would do. My guess is, unless it was so bad that the roads were closed, i would simply go about my business while enjoying the look of snow blunting the edges of the landscape.

I love this and how you imagined your time with snow, blunting the edges. Beautifully put.

Speaking from Canada where snow is the norm.

    2. I love your approach to life, Mimi! Kids and snow definitely go together, I remember pulling snowpants and parkas on over our pajamas early morning and going tobogganing by moonlight at night!

While I don't love the cold weather, there is truly nothing that makes the world seem softer and cleaner than a fresh snow, I love how it muffles everything! <3

  2. A snowy day spent reading at home with my cats would be purrfect. And possibly building a snowcat with my hubby if it wasn't too cold or windy.:)

    1. Curling up with a good book and a cat is about as cozy as it gets, Ellen! Add a cup of hot chocolate or hot tea and I'll join you! :-) I still like to play outside in it a little bit too!

  3. Snowshoeing, and then snuggling in front of the fire with chocolate, wine, and a great book.

    1. Now that sounds invigorating! I remember how exhausted but happy we would return home from a day of sledding or ice skating and a nice fire to warm by would be wonderful!

  4. Skating on a frozen pond with my family while it silently and softly snowed.

    1. I did a lot of ice skating as a child, and loved it! Magical time with snow falling and the only sound being blades scraping on the ice! I would definitely break bones if I tried it now though! :-)

  5. My fantasy winter day would be a nice cozy log cabin with a fire burning in the fireplace, cookies and hot chocolate in hand, furkids curled up on our laps, and a picture window view of snow falling in the woods around us!

    1. Maybe some day down the road that fantasy can come true!
