Ten Things of Thankful: Unspoken and Otherwise

I'm composing this post quickly on October 6th, and scheduling it to publish on the 12th. Some of you know that I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Tonight, at the women's session of General Conference, President Nelson challenged us to take a 10-day fast from social media. I'm starting my fast on the morning of Sunday, October 7th. 

The church certainly recognizes the great tool technology is, but it can also be a great distraction, and I'm looking forward to seeing how my life is different in the 10 days I'm off. 

You are certainly welcome to join me in the break, but I also wanted to make sure the link to the TToT was up for those who want to participate.

Aren't you thankful for Octobers? Looking out my window right now, I see red leaves of sumac, and just-starting-to-yellow aspen leaves. I came across the following poem quoted in a  talk by Henry B. Eyring:

Some murmur when the sky is clear

And wholly bright to view,

If one small speck of dark appear

The darkness of their night.

AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! 

As you've no doubt noticed, I haven't been an active presence here for awhile. Life has been keeping me otherwise occupied and I haven't had the time, energy, or desire to spend much time blogging. I don't feel like I'm giving TToT the attention it deserves. I've been doing the linkup for 72 weeks now, and the time has come to pass it on. Our friend and fellow blogger Kristi at Thankful Me has graciously volunteered to take over as administrator of this blog and our Facebook page effective this coming week, and I know she will do an amazing job for us!  

I'll still be dropping by from time to time to link up a post, and I'm always just an email away if you want to say hi! :-)  My sincere thanks go out to each and every one of you who participate regularly in the TToT,  and who have so graciously supported me in my efforts here.
