TToT - 4/14/17

Ten Things of Thankful

Welcome to this week's edition of Ten Things of Thankful!!

I can't believe this month is already half over!  Just a week ago we were walking on the beach and flying a kite high in the blue sky, today I am looking out my window at our West Texas landscape that is damp from last night's pouring rain, knowing that things will green up a little for a bit, and all the desert creatures will be happy. Returning home from vacation is always a little hard after anticipating it for so long, but I am thankful we had the opportunity to go, and that we have a nice little house to return to and furkids eager to see us. They are hanging close this week, I think we were missed. I know very blessed I am, and I have so much to be thankful for. How about you?

At Ten Things of Thankful we believe that there are many little things in our lives to be thankful for each day as well as the big things that stand out. Keep in mind that you are not required to list ten things if you can't come up with that many, nobody is keeping score, but do the best you can!  You'll find that once you get started, more things tend to pop into your head! :-)

This week's TToT link-up will open shortly after midnight (Central Time) on Thursday night, and will remain open until Tuesday night, so you have plenty of time to work on your post. PLEASE check back next week for new links that were added in later, those folks will appreciate your comments too!

Thank you for joining us here,
Josie Two Shoes :-)

Please take a moment to say something nice about yourself  in the comments section below using this format: I am ______________.  It's a fun way for us to get better acquainted.

  1. While i'm not sure how nice it is, i know it's true -- i'm safe enough to be around, because i'm just generally nuts, not clinically nuts!

    1. Very funny, Mimi :-) We might be sisters because I am that way too! At least we can say it's nice that we are relatively safe to be around. LOL

  2. I try to be an encourager, to do little things to cheer people up and to help them feel more positive about life. I believe little acts of kindness can make a big difference. They have in my life!

  4. I am trying to navigate through this restless stage I seem to find myself in, here in my early thirties. I am determined never to take my life for granted and to keep striving for more.

    1. Figuring out what direction to take in life is challenging and it does make us restless. I know that you're going to keep working at it until you find something that fits you just right, and I can't wait to see where life takes you! :-) The fact that you don't take things for granted makes all the difference, I wish everyone cold see life from that perspective.

    2. I am in a new season of life, winter, and a bit undone by it. I am not sure what to do with my life other than wanting to be an encouragement to others as they move through their seasons. As I say on my blog; I know where I have been, where I am, and where I am going, but not always what I am doing. I am looking for some direction and it seems it is slow in coming. Still, all is well with my soul.

    3. This aging stuff is a little unsettling, I am trying to adapt too. You are always a source of encouragement to me, and I love that I can come to you with things that trouble me. Maybe direction is a one day at a time thing at some points in our lives, seeing what opportunities God presents to us as we go along. I'd like to say I've gotten a lot more done being home, but the time just seems to go faster, still it is a real blessing not to struggle through work each day, and I am very thankful for that. Freedom to spend my hours as suits me best is wonderful, and I'm sure it is for you too! We are both in Good Hands, we know that! <3

  5. how do I miss this post for commentation? I just realized that I don't always write comments on the blog that hosts this 'hop.
    Will remedy that now.
.... thank you for hosting the TToT each week. Have a good Easter.

    1. Thank you Clark! Comments aren't required here of course, but I always enjoy them! Hosting the TToT is something I look forward to each weekend, it's fun to catch up on everyone's life a bit, and be reminded of more things in life that are good!

  6. I really enjoy doing research and discovering answers to questions, which often lead me to more questions.

    1. That sounds fun! The Internet has made research so much easier! More questions means you'll learn a great deal by the time you're through! :-)

  7. I am a wife (just the one time), a daughter (though my parents are no longer with us), a mom (to three) and a sister ( #9 out of 10 kids-great positioning!). And I am so grateful that you have provided this place for us to come together in positivity every week!

    1. Every one of those roles comes with it's joys and challenges, and so many good memories! #9 does sound like a pretty good spot in the line up, certainly a little easier than being the first-born! I love doing the TToT linkup each week with everyone, it's such an uplifting experience! :-)

  8. What a fun idea! I do try to do gratitude posts on a regular basis, but have had a pretty slow streak with blogging until the A to Z challenge. Right now I'm particularly grateful for my family, and for my parents and the wonderful childhood and blessed life I have enjoyed, my dear husband, six wonderful children, two perfect daughters in law and two beautiful grandchildren. That all adds up to more than 10!

    1. I think we all go through blogging slumps where life keeps us busy with other things, but somehow we are always drawn back. This is a really fun thing to participate in each week, and it's open from Friday thru Tuesday so there's plenty of time to get a post done. Family definitely is the biggest blessings in our lives in far more ways than we can begin to count! I suspect your daughters in law feel blessed to have you in their lives as well! I hope we'll see you linking up with us in the future! :-)
